We've always liked traveling here at martytown. And we've
been to quite a few places:
2008
Planning is underway for the year! But first, we took a quick trip down
south to see the masters
golf tournament (alas, it's "only" a practice round). On the
way, we made stops in virginia,
north carolina,
south carolina,
and georgia for a
"tour of the south".
2007
After many years away, we finally made it back out to the northern
plains. We flew into denver, colorado,
and drove a big clockwise circle through wyoming,
montana, north
dakota, and south
dakota. What a very different part of the country that many people
never get to see!
I also visited oriole
park for the first time in many years (since they are such an awful
team). Truth is, the attraction was the red hot red sox. But my birds
prevailed, 11-5. Sweet!
2006
We never got a good enough look at the grand canyon state back in 2000.
So in march, we headed back to arizona
to explore the southern end of the state. Of course, this also included
a side trip over to vegas for
some poker action.
And in october we
were back out in the southwest,
exploring the four corners region including arizona,
new mexico, colorado,
utah, and of course, a two night stop in
vegas.
For thanksgiving,
we headed down to charlottesville,
virginia and jefferson's
estate at monitcello.
