There are still
a few places in the USA that I've been wanting to revisit since our
big trip of 1968. While I was pushing for yellowstone and glacier national
parks this year, the choice was mount rushmore and the badlands. Well,
if we're gonna be in south dakota, it's about time we hit north dakota
as well (a state I'd never been to). And since we were flying into denver,
there were a number of things in that corner of colorado that needed
exploring.
This was gonna be
the most miles driving around in a "loop tour" yet, surpassing
last year's southwest trip. If you've never been out west, it's fantastic.
This trip included the rocky mountains and lots of open country. It's
our big annual trip. It's the Northern Plains:
2007.
day 1: saturday,

Our plane left philadelphia an hour late (is this a rule?) and after
a scheduled change of planes in akron and another scheduled stop in
chicago, were on our way to denver, colorado
