We hadn't been to wyoming since
1968. That trip covered the western side of the state, from yellowstone
and grand teton national parks,
south to utah.
Finally in 2007,
we decided to to revisit mount rushmore and the badlands, which we also
hadn't seen since 1968. But I also wanted to see north dakota, where
I'd never been. And if we're gonna drive 5 hours north to hit roosevelt
national park, we might as well go a little west into eastern montana
to see the little big horn battlefield, site of custer's last stand.
And that brings
us to wyoming. The eastern part of the state was the "connector"
to all of these sites, coming as we were out of denver (where we flew
in on southwest airlines). We were gonna drive a big clockwise loop.
