2007 Playoff Skinny

Well, well, time for the contenders to play and the pretenders (not Chrissie Hynde's band) to go home to play golf. Well watching golf my not be bad considering Tiger Woods is making a run at another "Tiger Slam." He will have to defend at Oakmont outside of Pittsburgh Pa. Good luck Tiger. Now off to the skinny.

I fared pretty well, predicting the NFC and AFC East winners. Throw in the Bears, Chargers, and Seahawks, and I'm batting better than David Wright did in the playoffs last year for the Mets. Since I missed Wildcard Weekend and the editor got 4 for 4 (see the picks), it's time to step up and pass him like the Democrats did to the Republicans in November.

The NFC
Out of the NFC I like the Saints/Aints to beat the Beagles/Eagles and the Spares/Bears to win vs. the Seadogs, with the Aints going to Hotami.

The AFC
In the AFC I have to like the Patriots' chances vs. the Bolts. I just think the bubble will burst on the Super Chargers like it did for Schottenheimer last year when he had an MVP quarterback. I have to like the Slavins/Ravens over the Jolts. The Jolts just can't win with no rushing defense and I like an "all east coast" Super bowl.

As I send this off to good as I did in years past (getting 3 out of 4) I wish the best of luck to Tiki Barber. In a league of thugs, trashtalkers, and self promoting primadonnas, Tiki stands out as a class act from the old school of Montana, Rice, Swann, and Starr. No need to trash talk for these gents and Tiki — that's why they're professionals, T.O.! Not JV! See you at the Ravens' game! Go PATS GO!

P.S. If you ever get a chance to go to West Point for a game, go! Just a great atmosphere to see a college game in the fall! Can't wait to go back!
