Football Forecast for 2003!
A little late but then again it was more then 3 decades before the team form central Florida got themselves a world title.

The NFC
On the eve of the 1st Monday night game I can see the Beagles going down to the Bucs. The Beagles are a good team but look for the New York Giants to stay atop the NFC East in December with the Beagles fighting for the wildcard.

In the NFC Norris/North I got to stay with the Lions. Yes the Lions, Joey Harrington and Mariucci claim the division by mid December. This division is old and ugly — kinda like Fidel Castro. (Is he still in charge down there?)

In the NFC South I have to go with the Bucs. In the weakest division in football the smucks could be back in the big game in January. The Saints and the Coons (Falcons) need a prayer from the Pope before they see atop of this division. Oh yeah and I forgot to mention the Panthers, so I won't.

In the NFC Wild Wild West I like the Rams / Slams to edge out Frisko. Pop Warner is back and with a formidable backup in Bulger; they could be the class of the Conference.

The AFC
Over
in the AFC East, well it's up for grabs. The Pats cutting the other half of the Law and Order team (Lawyer Milloy) could spell doom for my boys. Only a miracle could save them from a season of doom. Therefore in a bold prediction I’m going with the Jets / Not Yets to take the east in the toughest division in football. The Fish (even though a dolphin is not a fish) with a coach on a hot seat and no real quarterback is a bad combination. Look for them to finish dead last. The Spills will have their say before all is said and done.

In the AFC South I like the Titans. The rest of the division is almost as weak as a peace treaty between Israel and Palestine.

In the AFC North I see the Steelers winning again with a great running and bash combo of Famous Amos Zereoue and the Bus. Look for Cleveland and the Slavins to kick up a fuss here.

In the AFC West there are more pretenders than in the Calfornia Governor's race. Forget it it’s the Broncs, with the Chiefs and the Raiders for fight it out for 2nd.

Well there you have it. See you for the mid year picks in November. Remember football is only sport where they play for pay (Mike Francesa).
