The
2004-2005 season saw the ransacking of this franchise over the summer,
with the ditching of both kerry kittles and the heart and soul of the
team, kenyon martin, for essentially nothing in return. I can't support
the brooklyn ownership deal. It breaks my heart that a new jersey team
will be moved to brooklyn. I still like the remaining players and coach
frank, but what a shambles. So in the era of free agent players and
carbetbagger owners, we're declaring our free agent status as a fan.
Our new team, where we've been to several games over the years, is the
miami heat. That's right, shaq is now playing on my team!
What can I
say? As commissioner of martytown, I'm new jersey first, philly
probably second, and always against new york! With the resigning of
JASON KIDD and the addition of alonzo mourning, we had high hopes
once again for the guys up in the swamp for the upcoming 2003-2004
season. But fate intervened in the case of Zo. Luckily, we finally
got rid of Byron "Deer in Headlights" Scott, and now have
a fair chance to win this thing with a coach on the bench!
The 2002-2003
season was as tantalizing as last year, but with the added frustration
that we had the spurs on the ropes. The series was ours to win. Coach
scott was like a deer in headlights in some of these games, with miserable
player substitutions. Literally threw away 2 of these games. THREW
IT AWAY!
Once again we
got some pictures of the finals
along with "the scene"
in the arena. Enjoy!
The 2001-2002
season was just a magical year for jason kidd and company, even
if he was robbed in the MVP voting. The nets steamrolled through the eastern conference playoffs, and I had
great tickets to see the games! (And because my sixers
took the bullet in the first round, I wasn't overloaded with playoff
tickets.)
Anyway, we took
the ol' camera to game 4 in the meadowlands, and got some good pictures
of finals action vs. the lakers
as well as "the scene"
in the arena. While the ultimate outcome was disappointing, it was
nevertheless a great run and a great season. If the nets can hold
onto kidd, watch out!
