The Coffee Capital

Starbucks Coffee. What can be said about Starbucks? Some people think it's too strong, but they don't know real coffee. The flavor is so intense and the caffeine kick so strong that it's the most addictive thing you can buy legally. My favorite, the caramel macchiato, is a latte with thick caramel sauce added on top. Be sure to try a frappachino in the summer or the egg nog latte in winter.

Tully's Coffee. An upstart Seattle based chain of around 100 stores, Tully's holds the distinction of being founded by the brother of a friend of mine in the early 90s. The setup is hard to distinguish from Starbucks. They have some interesting coffee varieties, such as Baseball Blend and Pine Coffee.

Seattle's Best Coffee. Another well-known local chain that's recently been swallowed up by Starbucks. Also known as SBC.

Peet's Coffee. This is actually a Berkeley, Ca. based company, and sort of the anti-Starbucks. They've even been around longer, and have opened up a few stores in the Seattle area. A milder cup than Starbucks, and good for a change of pace.

Coffee Lingo. Check out this page with everything you need to know!
