Sometimes you just gotta take a chance. Sure I had heard The
Strokes' single Last Nite on the radio, and I thought
it was just an okay song. Sort of reminded me of some old punk / new
wave bands from the early 80s. But I kept hearing raves about this
band. So with little to go on, I picked up this album.
The verdict: It
is a smash hit! In fact, Last Nite isn't even close to one
of the best songs on this album. That honor (in my humble opinion)
goes to Barely Legal. This is an album that definitely belongs
in your collection.
