Former Stray Cat Brian Setzer
continues to rock me with his big swing band sound and a rockabilly
beat. I liked his previous effort Dirty Boogie, and this new
release picks up where he left off. The song that I can't get out
of my head is Americano which was also featured in last year's
The Talented Mr. Ripley (see my review)
in the jazz club scene where Matt Damon and Jude Law get up on stage
and join the band. This tune perfectly sums up how cool it must have
been to be an american living in Italy in the 1950s at least
I think it would have been cool in my imagination. But that's what's
great about this kind of music it takes you to another time
and place. Just a fine tune and a pretty fine album.
