A modern masterpiece! Set in Italy in the 1950s, this stylish film makes you want to be there too, living the good life with Dickie Greenleaf (Jude Law) and his girlfriend Marge Sherwood (Gwyneth Paltrow) as they hobnob around town, cruise on their sailboat or hang out in the local jazz club.

Everything is great, until Tom Ripley (Matt Damon) shows up and weaves himself into their lives. Ripley says it's better to be a fake somebody than a real nobody, and then proceeds to become that somebody. But he can't get rid of his past so easily, which builds the suspense and ultimate mayhem in the best Hitchcock tradition.
