Maria Antonia Sanchez Lorenzo

The internet is an amazing thing. For years I've been posting pictures of players that I've seen at tennis tournaments. Some are famous names, and some are players that I came upon by accident on the outer courts, and then ended up following their career from year to year.

In January 2007 I received an email from the webmaster of Maria Sanchez Lorenzo's website, who had come across this site and my US Open photos of her. The webmaster is in the Netherlands! He informed me that she has recently retired. After a few emails back and forth, I also received this signed photo of Maria, from Portoroz 2005! Pretty neat. (Click on the pic for a larger view.)
