This album has been a long time coming for one of my favorite "local"
musicians. While John Eddie may
be from Virginia originally, he's been playing the South Jersey and
Philly scene for almost 20 years. I remember the great shows down
at the Empire Rock Club on Roosevelt Blvd. so many years ago. After
a few modest album successes (in which the record label always releases
a weak song as the single), John wandered around for almost ten years
before he got the record deal to put out this package.
And although it's
a great album, success still eludes him. And if you're over 40 (as
one of his songs will tell you), you're just happy to be still getting
some attention and grinding out a living. If you like this album (or
even his earlier works), be sure to see him in concert. That's where
he's having the most fun.
