Ben Stiller. Robert DeNiro. You know it's gonna be funny in a screwball way. Stiller plays a male nurse who is thinking about getting engaged to his girlfriend, but he knows that he better first meet the parents. He has reason to believe DeNiro (his father-in-law to be) will be tough on him. And of course, Stiller can't possibly be macho enough for DeNiro, who grills him and exposes his weaknesses at every turn. DeNiro also turns out to be a CIA operative. (If you've seen the trailer, you know that he even gives Stiller a lie detector test.) Like a lot of comedies, the craziness continues to build until there's nowhere else to go but a resolution of the conflicts, with the characters working out their differences, etc. But it's a great romp with Stiller and DeNiro at the top of their game.
