Lone Star
One of my favorite John Sayles'
movies. It's a generational tale
involving old secrets among
the different cultures who lived
side by side in a Texas town.

Giant
If a movie could be as big
as Texas, this is it! Starring
Rock Hudson, Elizabeth Taylor,
and James Dean, it's old money
cattemen vs. new money oil,
told over generations.

The Alamo
This is the classic 1960 version,
with John Wayne, Richard Widmark,
and Lawrence Harvey fighting off
Santa Ana and helping to create
the new country of Texas.

The Searchers
Another John Ford classic,
supposedly set in Texas, starring
the Duke on a quest to save
a young girl (Natalie Wood)
kidnapped by the Indians.

Hud
A great Paul Newman movie
that chronicles the clash of an
old Texas cattleman's culture
vs. his hard-headed son, Hud.

Urban Cowboy
A story of modern Texas:
working at the oil refinery by day,
and dancing in the honky tonks
at night (at the famous Gillie's).
A great movie, and probably
my favorite John Travolta film.

The Last Picture Show
Peter Bogdanovich's coming
of age movie set in a one horse
Texas town, starring Jeff Bridges
and Cybill Shepherd.

Dallas: The Complete
First Five Seasons

Just a sensational prime time
soap opera set in and around
Dallas, Texas. Who Shot JR?
Find out with this boxed set!

4 for Texas
I always liked this light hearted
movie, starring Frank Sinatra,
Dean Martin, Anita Ekberg,
and Ursula Andress.
